She was born Sept. 27, 1874 in Jackson County, and spent her early life teaching in rural schools in Atchison and Jackson counties. She served as a practical nurse for several Topeka doctors from 1941 until she retired in 1945. She also was a practical nurse at the Ingelside Home. She was a member of the Trinity Methodist Church. Survivors include two sons, Orville L. Gibson, 2121 Gage Blvd., and Philip C. Gibson, 3532 Avalon Lane; two daughters, Mrs. W.B. McADOW, of Ft. Meade, S.D.; and Mrs. Lois McREYNOLDS, 629 Lincoln; one stepdaughter, Mrs. Candace FLETCHER of Holton, and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Services will be at 4 p.m. Monday at the Wall-Diffenderfer Chapel with burial in Mount Hope Cemetery.

    3. The Topeka Daily Capital Sunday December 25, 1960 Mahlon E. Harding Dies Here at Age 81. Mahlon E. HARDING, 81, 100 Hawthrone, died Saturday in a local hospital. He was born Feb. 10, 1879, in Douglas County. He was the owner of the Harding Wheel Company of Topeka from 1904 until he retired in 1950. He was a member of the Potwin Presbyterian Chuch, and the Modoc Singing Club. Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Ida Harding of the home; one daughter, Mrs. Malcolm CLOUGH of Annadale, Va.; two sons, Roy K. and F. Earl, both of Leawood, Kan.; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Wall-Diffenderfer Chapel with burial in Memorial Park Cemetery.

He spent most of his life in Northern Lyon County, was a member of the American Legion and IOOF in Harveyville, and a veteran of World War I. Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Florence Schooten, of the home; a son, Herman of El Dorado; three daughters, Mrs. Lois COATS, of Emporia; Mrs. Loran SHAW of Auburn, and Mrs. Rose VARNER, 1112 Frazier; one brother, Floyd Schooten of Osage City; and two sisters, Mrs. Nora MILLER of Temple, Tex., and Mrs. Pearl TUBBS of Alhambra, Calif. Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Helen Raynor and a son, Robert Raynor, both of the home; five daughters, Mrs. Helen RUSHER, 909 W. 32nd; Mrs. Bernice FREEMAN, 1421 Kansas; Mrs. Mary N.     3. The Topeka Daily Capital Sunday December 25, 1960 Emma Leonard. Mrs. Emma LEONARD, 66, of Richland, died Saturday en route to a hospital in Topeka. She was the widow of the late Claude Leonard, former postmaster of Richland. She was born Dec. 26, 1893, at New York City and has been a resident of Richland since 1942. She formerly lived in Topeka for a number of years. She was a member of the Richland Evangelical United Brethren Chruch, The Brown Leonard Woodward Post of the American Legion and the Americal Legion Auxiliary. She was a Red Cross nurse during World War I. She is survived by a sister, Mrs. Dorotha WITNAH, St. Louis. Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at the Richland EUB Church with burial in Pleasant Hill Cemetery. Graveside services will be held by the America Legion. Ted Tibbitts Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.

She was a member of the North Topeka Baptist Church for more than 60 years, a member of Helena Chapter, NO. 210 of the Order of Eastern Star, and a charter member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Switchmen's Union. Her husband, Frank Deppe, died in 1953. Surviving are a son, Gerald Deppe, of the home; a daughter, Mrs. Roberta ATKINS, of Wichita; and a sister, Mrs. Cora BROWN, 1207 Eugene.

Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. E.L. BEBB of Omaha, Neb., and Mrs. Anna DECKER, 723 MacVicar; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Burial will be in Sunset Cemetery in Manhattan. The body will lie in state from noon today until time for services.
