My father and I are on a quest to locate a "lost" great-uncle and his descendants. Our last confirmed "sighting" of the family is in the 1910 census in Beaver County, OK, where my great-uncle Edwin A. Bennett homesteaded a quarter-section in the area between the towns of Floris and Turpin. Listed with him in the census are his wife Josie and 3 children, Mabel (age 5), Arthur (age 3), and Mary (age 1). I don't know what happened to any of them after that. I think I have now found Edwin's son Arthur in the SSDI, listed with a deathdate of Sept 1982 in Liberal, KS. Could one of you kind souls that live there in the area check for me and see if you can find an obituary for Arthur Bennett of Liberal, KS, in Sept 1982? I am hopeful that it will name his surviving relatives, maybe give the married names of his sisters, and lead us toward our goal of contacting some living cousins.
