The marriage of Miss Oma BRADLEY and Mr. Clarence HOWARD and Miss Elizabeth SILER and Mr. Albert ALDERMAN was solemized at the parsonage of the Methodist minister at Tyrone, Okla., on January 4th, after which the young folks returned to Liberal and succeeded in keeping the wedding a secret until this week. The Liberal Daily Democrat Seward County Thursday January 6, 1921 Wesley Devoll Dies Very Suddenly. Was Talkng With Physician When He Took Sudden Pain and Fell To the Floor. Wesley DeVOLL, of South Pershing avenue dropped dead last night at about 5:30 o'clock while talking to his wife and physician. Mr. DeVoll had not been feeling well although nothing serious was thought to be the matter. He was talking about some plans when he was stricken with severe pains in his side and fell to the floor dead. Mr. DeVoll had been suffering with something like rheumatic pains about his right side and shoulder and had called a doctor to see if something could not be given to ease the pain. His temperature and pulse were normal and apparently there was no cause for alarm. Funeral arrangements have not been made at this time.

The Liberal Daily Democrat Seward County Wednesday January 5, 1921 Harold Leroy Johnson. Harold Leroy JOHNSON, 14-year-old son fo Mr. and Mrs. I.W. Johnson of Tyrone, died from typhoid fever in Tyrone Monday. The funeral services were held Tuesday at 2:30 and burial made in Tyrone cemetery.
The Liberal Daily Democrat Seward County Tuesday January 4, 1921 Victim of Boiler Explosion Died Last Night. Ellis OBERDICK, who was scalded in the boiler explosion last Friday afternoon, and who was brought to a local hospital Saturday, died last night. He was twenty-four years of age, and an ex-service man. His home was in Nashville, Kansas, and he was here working with the threshing crew near Hooker, where the accident occurred. His mother is her an dhis father was to have arrived on No. 1 today, to take charge of the remains. Same Newspaper; Wednesday, January 5, 1921 Body of Elmer Oberdick Taken To Nashville, Kans. The body of Elmer Oberdick was taken to his home in Nashville, Kansas, this morning on the plug, where funeral services and burial will take place. His parents accompanied the remains. The Liberal Daily Democrat Seward County Tuesday January 4, 1921 Florence Irene HOLLOWAY, the four-year-old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Bert Holloway, died Saturday evening. The funeral was held at the Friends church today at 2:30. The Rev. Olen Hunt had charge of the services. Interment was made in the Liberal cemetery.
The Liberal Daily Democrat Seward County Tuesday January 4, 1921 J.L. Wade and Verna Hayes Married In November. Kept Wedding a Secret Two Months--Former Seward County Teacher Resigns School. Miss Verna HAYES, former Seward County school teacher, and J.L. WADE, formerly linotype operator on the Daily Democrat, but now of Wichita, were married in this city, November 6th. Mrs. Wade left for Wichita last week, where she will make her home. The wedding took place before Mr. and Mrs. Wade left Liberal in November, but the marriage was kept a secret for two months. The Democrat extends congratulations.
The Liberal Daily Democrat Seward County Tuesday January 4, 1921 Civil War Veteran Died Early This Morning. J.M. Harter Passed Away at Four o'Clock This Morning--Wife and Son Were With Him. J.M. HARTER of South Liberal, died this morning, after a few days illness. Mr. Harter had not been feeling well as usual for the past ffew days, although his condition was not considered serious. His wife and son were with him when the end came, and he had been talking to them but a few minutes before the end. Mr. Harter was born in Ohio, June 18, 1842, and died January 4, 1921. Funeral services will be held Wednesday afternoon, and interment will be made in the Liberal cemetery.
The Liberal Daily Democrat Seward County Monday January 3, 1921 Two Men Scalded When Boiler Explodes. Elmer OBERDICK and Jim COCHRAN were scalded very badly Friday when the boiler of a threshing machine engine exploded. The accident occurred about 28 miles west of Hooker. They were brought immediately to a local hospital. Mr. Oberdick is in a very serious condition, while Mr. Cochran is getting along nicely.

The Liberal Daily Democrat Seward County Saturday January 21, 1921 Caylor--Moore. Miss Pearl CAYLOR and Mr. William MOORE of Beaver City, were united in marriage at the Presbyterian manse by Rev. Barrier, on Friday, December 31st. Miss Caylor has been employed at the S. & S. Bakery for some time, and is known by any of the people of Liberal. They have a host of friends that wish for them a long and prosperous married life.

Benjamin FRANTZ, aged 73 years, died at his home near Balko, Oklahoma, in the Bethany neighborhood, December 30th. Funeral services will be held Sunday. Mr. Frantz has lived in the southwest for several years and is known by many of the old-timers of Liberal and Seward county.
