The Liberal Daily Democrat Seward County Tuesday February 22, 1921 Quarantine Is Off After This Evening. All Restrictions Removed by County Health Office Beginning Wednesday. Officer Urges Personal Caution. The provisional quarantine which has been in effect for the past several weeks, will be raised tonight, and tomorrow morning everything will return to normal again. There will be no restrictions upon anyone and all may come and go as they see fit. However, Geo. S. SMITH, county health officer, advises that every person use all caution in protecting themselves and their families as much as possible against contracting disease. He has raised the quarantine and puts every citizen on his own respsonsibility in the matter. Another case of smallpox developed today, but the scarlet fever has abated to the point where it permits a resumption of normal conditions.
The Colby Free Press-Tribune Wednesday April 29, 1942 Levant Items. Carl BROWN and Al YOUNG went to Colorado Springs to see about work on a government project out there. Mrs. HOOBLER finished a successful term of school at Bunker Hill last Friday. Mrs. Hattie TOUSLEE was informed that her cousin, Joe BUSSELLE, passed away at the Veteran's hospital in Chicago. He was telegrapher here and also at Brewster, was transferred from here to Norton.
The Liberal Daily Democrat Monday February 21, 1902 L.N. BROWN and family left Saturday night for Great Bend, Kansas, where they will make thier home. Mr. Brown has a job traveling for the Grovier Produce Company.
The Liberal Daily Democrat Seward County Monday February 21, 1902 Mrs. Alice Jerrel Died Saturday Night. S.A. MILLER and Ray MEYER, undertakers from Liberal, were called to Tyrone about one o'clock Sunday morning to care for the body of Mrs. Alice JERREL, who was found dead in bed about midnight. Mr. Jerrel is manager of the light company there and on account of having to keep the lights on for a basket ball game that night did not get home until about twelve o'clock when he found her dead. The remains were shipped Sunday to Shelbyville, Mo., for interment. The deceased leaves two children, one son and one daughter, who live in Tyrone. The sympathy of all goes with the bereaved family.
The Liberal Daily Democrat Seward County Saturday February 19, 1902 O.R. Still Funeral Today. Orange R. STILL, aged 28 years, who died from tuberculosis February 18, 1921, was buried today in the Floris cemetery after a military funeral which was in charge of the American Legion Post of this city. Orange Still was the son of Mr. and Mrs. J.L. Still of Floris. He contracted the disease from which he died, while in the Army.
The Liberal Daily Democrat Seward County Saturday February 12, 1921 Mrs. G.M. REED and infant child who died Thursday, Jan. 27, near Balko, were buried Sunday. Mrs. Reed was the young wife of G.M. Reed and was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. P. T. CASSIDY and had grown up in the Balko neighborhood. The bodies were prepared for burial by C.H. Richeson of Beaver and services conducted by Rev. Martin of Balko. The sympathy of the community goes out to the bereaved family in their great loss.--Beaver Democrat.
The Liberal Daily Democrat Seward County Friday February 11, 1921 Died. Ruth GROVER, the fifteen-year-old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. M.L. GROVER, died Thurdsay evening at a local hospital. She had been ill for the past several days with a severe case of scarlet fever, which resulted in her death. Ruth was a loveable girl, and had a large host of friends who will mourn her death. The funeral services will be held Saturday morning from the Liberal Undertaking parlors. Friends wishing to see the body may do so by going to the Undertaking office.
The Liberal Daily Democrat Seward County Friday February 11, 1921 Mrs. W.E. Bush Died Thurdsay Afternoon. Was Thought to be Recovering From Operation When She Suddenly Passed Away. A death which brought sadness to many hearts occurred yesterday afternoon, when Mrs. W.E. BUSH suddenly passed away. She had undergone an operatoin and was seemingly on the way to recovery, when, without warning she experience a sudden turn for the worse and the end came quickly. All members of the family except, a son, Wilford, who was unable to be here, were with her at the time of her death. Mrs. Bush was one of the most lovable of women, an indulgent wife and mother, and a valuable neighbor. Her sudden death is a severe blow to the family, who loved and honored her. The funeral will be held Saturday afternoon at 2:30, conducted by Rev. Barrier of the Presbyterian church, and interment will be made in the Liberal cemetery. The family have the deepest sympathy of all in their time of trial.

The Liberal Daily Democrat Friday February 11, 1921 King Collier Trades Hardware For Land. King COLLIER has just closed a deal with Chas. ROBINSON of Bucklin whereby Mr. Robinson takes over the hardware stock of Mr. Collier and that gentleman secures some good land between Copeland and Sublette. Mr. Robinson will divide the stock between his three stores at Kingsdown, Copeland, and Sublette. The deal was made by Riney & Newby real estate dealers of this city.
The Liberal Daily Democrat Thursday February 10, 1921 Mr. and Mrs. Will HOPPER arrived in the city Wednesday from Lipscomb, Texas, for a short visit with the G.W. SESSLER family. A.S. CRANE of the Internal Revenue office at Wichita, will be in Liberal from March 1st to 5th to assist tax payers in making out returns. Mrs. Ethel HARVEY of Fowler, who spent a few days at the DeCAMP home went to the C.H. ELLIS home west of town Wednesday afternoon for a few days visit.
The Liberal Daily Democrat Tuesday February 8, 1921 Leonard, the two-year-old son of Mr. and Mrs. W.S. BANKS, 313 South Washington, fell from his high chair abotu three o'clock Monday afternoon and broke his right leg above the knee. He was taken to a local hospital where the fracture was reduced by Dr. HUDDLESTON, and the little fellow is reported getting along nicely now. T.L. BANKS, another son of Mr. and Mrs. Banks, who is an employee of the Rock Island round house, had the misfortune to dislocate his ankle while climbing down from the cab of an engine Sunday evening. He was unable to return to work Monday, but is getting along nicely, according to Mr. Banks.

Wonder, died at her home, twelve miles west and two north of Liberal, this morning at six o'clock. Funeral services will be held at the church in their neighborhood Friday afternoon at two o'clock, and interment will be made in the Liberal cemetery.
The Liberal Daily Democrat Seward County Monday January 31, 1921 Died. D.M. JOHNSON, who resided one mile south of Floris, died Saturday afternoon. Funeral services were held Sunday at two-thirty, at the home by Rev. C. Neff. Interment was made in the Floris cemetery. Mrs. Johnson is survived by his wife and two daughters. Sympathy is extended by a large host of friends to the heart broken family.
