I'm researching the Sterns and I believe the Matriarch was Catherine Helfrich/Helfrick but other than 1 confirmed census in PA in 1870 and a marriage notice for one of her sons (with either her correct last name or an utter butchering of Helfrick) the Helfrich line is a mystery to me. I had assumed they didn't leave PA but in the 1930 census, in Scott Co, there is a Roy (Ray?) Helfrick living next door to one of my Sterns, Ollie, and a couple doors down from another of my Sterns, Harry. I assume that's not a coincidence.
