    3. Pam, I have a listing of people buried in the Plainville Cemetery (both the Catholic & Protestant) I could not find a listing for your gggrandmother's name. I checked all the M's and also under Doig. Are you sure she was buried in the Plainville Cemetery? I also checked all the obit's & death notices that are in the Plainville Times - Nothing The only thing that I could find on Morison or Morrison was that a family by the name Morrison that use to live in Rooks County, moved to Russell County about 1899 and then back again to Rooks county in 1910 to Stockton. They had a daughter named Helen Morrison, born March 18, 1892. That Helen married a John Snyder. She died May 21, 1975. Did the Rooks County Death Book give any other information? Where did you find this death book? I would also have to guess the E. stood for her husband's first name. There are several small cemeteries in Rooks County, I also looked through what listings I have. Nothing. I dont have a listing for the Stockton Cemetery, but you might try getting ahold of Rooks County Assessor, they should have the name of who is in charge on the Stockton Cemetery (or who they send the tax statement to) They are located in the courthouse in Stockton, the phone # is 785-425-6262. The only other thing that I could think of is to get in touch with the Smith-Moore-Overleas Funeral Home which handles both Plainville & Stockton, their # is 785-425-6761. Otherwise there is Smith Monuments Inc located in Stockton, they have handle the headstones for Rooks County area for years, phone# 785-425-6762. Sorry, that I wasn't able to help you more, Jackie ----- Original Message ----- From: Zippytippy@aol.com To: KSROOKS-L@rootsweb.com Sent: Sunday, June 27, 2004 9:53 AM Subject: [KSROOKS] Plainville Cem. Jackie, My grgrgrandmother's name was Helen (Doig) Morison, but she was listed in the Rooks Co. Death Book as "Mrs. E. (Ellen?) Morison". I have been trying to verify her birthdate and thought maybe the tombstone would have a date on it. She could also be listed as "Morrison" (the double 'r' ) though our family spelled it with one 'r'. Not sure how the Helen got into Ellen, but maybe because of her Scottish pronunciation? Any info as to how I can speak to someone at the cemetery is very, very, very much appreciated!!!
