Oliva Western Books Woodston, Kansas 67675 1985 page 185 Elton J. Murphy (1893 - 1972), son of William W. and Cora May Alexander, married Alice May Manion (1896 - 1970) on June 6, 1915. She was the daughter of Rev. and Mrs. J. M. Manion. Elton taught school for a few years and spent most of his life farming north of Woodston. In 1958 they retired and lived in Woodston until their deaths. Their children were (1) Irma Marie (Mrs. Robert) Lee, living at Smith Center; (2) Elaine (Mrs. Paul) Gordon, Canon City, Colorado; (3) June (Mrs. Gerald) Downing, Englewood Colorado; and (4) Rev. Donald G. Murphy, McCook, Nebraska. They had 12 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.
