    3. Since the county clerk has the birth records starting in 1888-1901 that doesn't do you any good. One suggestion is that you order through interlibrary loan with your public library the newspapers from the Kansas State Historical Society. I did and was able to keep them for three weeks. It was all free even the shipping, but if there is a charge it is only a few dollars. They said they were going to charge me $4.95 but my library said they would pay for it. All it cost me every night was for my copies I made.
