    2. Brenda Reeder
    3. Since I took over the Rooks County KSGenWeb site in July 2004 I have uploaded 600 obituaries to date. I would like to thank all those who have looked up obits and sent them to me for posting, especially Jan Reading, a weekly if not daily contributor. Doyle Ekey has also been a big contributor. I would also like to thank all the other contributors for sharing their family obits in hope of finding other relatives researching their family lines. I have spent more hours than I would like to admit reading obits all over the US to find ones that relate to Rooks County to post. I have received numerous emails about the website, even one from the county clerk stating she would be sending people who contact her for copies of documents to the website. Thank you all for giving me the opportunity to help people locate resources for the descendants of the Rooks County people. This has been a wonderful experience for me and one I hope to continue for years to come. I have stacks of picture postcards taken around Rooks County and of the people of Rooks County, so many that it will probably take me years to scan and upload, I have the 1926 & 1927 Stockton High School year books and other bits and pieces relating to Rooks County to scan and post all purchased with my own money. I have such a love of Rooks County and the people there. My husband is truly lucky to descend from Rooks County pioneers. Thank you all for sharing, Brenda Reeder Rooks Co. 3. There is no obit for any Shoe in the Plainville Times which usually ran the same obits that the Stockton newspaper did. They shared stories. The Kansas State Historical Society loans on interlibrary load reels of the newspapers. I used two reels at my public library for three weeks and it didn't cost me anything but the copies I wanted. I went to get their link but the site is down. You might want to do a search tomorrow and see if it is back up. Brenda Reeder Rooks Co. 3. I am searching for information on the family of Sherman Lester Shoe and wife Eva Marie Shoe, and their children who lived in Stockton circa 1930. Their young son, (first name unknown?) Russell Shoe, approximately age 14, was shot and killed accidentally by another family member. I have been unable to find out any additional information about this untimely death. This Shoe family moved to Tacoma (Pierce County), Washington in 1933. Thank you for any help/ideas you might have. Michele

    3. Thanks for your great help. Dirk -------Originalmeldung------- Von: KWCHEC@aol.com Datum: 08/10/05 02:01:39 An: KSROOKS-L@rootsweb.com Betreff: Re: [KSROOKS] 1900 census lookup for August Frederick Giinther please Hi Dirk: I only had time to go in and look over quickly the 1900 (really hard to read), 1910, 1920 and 1930 census. I found him in all but, of course, the spelling of the last name leaves a lot to be desired on all but the 1930 census. If no one answers your query in the next couple of days, let me know and I'll then have time to go back in and pull off the information for you. Just a note, they lived in Ellis County, Kansas, not Rooks County. August was born in Ohio but Augusta was born in Germany and arrived in the U.S. in 1889, if any of that helps. Six children are listed in the 1910 census. Hope this helps a little. Helen In a message dated 8/8/05 8:26:43 PM Pacific Daylight Time, dirk@unterbrink.net writes: Hello, greetings from Germany. I need a 1900 census lookup for August Frederick Giinther. He lived with his wife Augusta Ruhling possible in Rooks county. Thanks for help.
