Hello Clarence, thank you for your great help. I wish to know how many children he had and from where he came from. I have information for the census records of 1900, 1910, and 1920 regarding August Ginther. His name varies from one census to another but I used other techniques to find him. I have not tried to find his children after they left home although I would think that it could possibly be done. What information would you like or need from the census records?? Hi Dirk: I only had time to go in and look over quickly the 1900 (really hard to read), 1910, 1920 and 1930 census. I found him in all but, of course, the spelling of the last name leaves a lot to be desired on all but the 1930 census. If no one answers your query in the next couple of days, let me know and I'll then have time to go back in and pull off the information for you. Just a note, they lived in Ellis County, Kansas, not Rooks County. August was born in Ohio but Augusta was born in Germany and arrived in the U.S. in 1889, if any of that helps. Six children are listed in the 1910 census. Hope this helps a little. Helen In a message dated 8/8/05 8:26:43 PM Pacific Daylight Time, dirk@unterbrink.net writes: Hello, greetings from Germany. I would suggest you contact the Smith-Moore-Overlease Funeral Home in Stockton to see if they can give you any history about funeral homes at the time and if they can tell you who the Woodston Cemetery Sexton is.
