The county seat is Belleville, KS.......... all the towns in Republic Co. are very small.? If he is All of Republic county has SMALL towns.? Haven't tried to get records anywhere except in Belleville since that is where James C. Humphrey lived as owner and editor of The Telescope newspaper. Don't know where the cemetery would be for your records but Belleville should know. If Dr. Scott's death was registered, Belleville Court house should have the records since they are the County Seat.? BUT DON"T forget the Belleville Library.? It is very small but loaded with local info.? I found a scrap with many photos in it of the Humphrey family.? Very personal information along with it.? The girls there are very helpful.
