Jacob was born 7/1/1867, Carrie E. was born 1/27/1873 in Indiana. According to my book, The Rock Houses of Minerville both are buried at Zion Cemetery, Republic Co. I could not fine any listings for Jacob / Nancy Myers. Jacob would have been the son of Conrad Myers, one of the first settlers of Republic Co. My book lists Lowe as Lowell, and shows a Tone J. 1854-1938, son of Norman S. 1829-1913 & Sarah A. 1830-1920, theirs also a sister Villa E. 1868-1947. Once again these people are buried in Zion Cemetery. I have no other information on these people. Hope this helps. Jeff

Louise in Kansas OBITUARY--The Belleville Telescope, Belleville, Republic County, Kansas, Friday, August 24, 1899 Mrs. Susanah Royse was born in Wayne County, Ind., in the year 1813, and died at the residence of Mr. and Mrs. G. W. Dixon, August 10th, 1899, aged 86 years. She was married to Frederick Royse some time in the forties, and came to Republic County in 1870, locating in Rose Creek township, where they resided until Mr. Royse's death in 1878. Since then she had been making her home with her children until about six years ago when she took up her place of abode with Mr. and Mrs. Dixon, where she resided until the time of her death. Grandma Royse is known by all the old settlers of this county. She leaves four children and numerous friends to mourn her loss. The children are McK. and James, who are at present located in Washington Territory, William at Howard, Kans., and Mrs. Jane Sellers in western Colorado. The funeral services were held Saturday, August 12th, in the Ida M. E. Church, of which she was a constant worker. The services were conducted by the Rev. Pitcher, of Belleville. After the services the remains were followed to their last resting place in the Ida cemetery by the many sorrowing friends. All who were acquainted with Grandma will all agree that a finer lady never lived; but now she has gone to rest, away from all sorrow and cares and has gained a heavenly home for which she has been a life long worker.

I don't have alot of additional information but can tell you that I descend from this family thru Mary Jane McBRIDE and Harvey GRANT. Robert Ellsworth GRANT is my great grandfather. Another relationship to the McBRIDE's is David McBRIDE (Mary Jane's brother) married Christina GRANT (Harvey's sister) so there were double cousins involved. It is a mystery to us as the time/place and cause of death of Mary Jane McBRIDE GRANT. I have found Harvey GRANT buried in Jefferson County IA. But did not find records of Mary Jane's death or burial place. I also do not have any records of the other children of Harvey GRANT and Mary Jane McBRIDE except the descendants of Robert E GRANT m Mary Ann GINN. Robert E GRANT and his wife Mary Ann GINN lived in Republic Co near Narka where their five children were born. They moved to Custer Co. OK in early 1900's. I'd be interested in any further information you might have on Mary Jane McBRIDE or her brother David McBRIDE. I am looking for the burials of Flora and Fannie. Fannie's death certificate notes she died in Topeka, but she was to be buried in Cuba, which is where her sister, Flora was living. The death certificate did not give the name of the cemetery. FYI, In addition to these two sisters the family consisted of another sister, Mary, who married a Harrison Richards, and five brothers, Laormer, Charles, Richard Amos, James and Harlan Lincoln. The family lived in Fairview Twp., from 1880 through 1910, then several siblings lived in Munden City in 1920.

Her entire life was one of stable quietude in an age of ceaseless unrest and constant change, for, with the exception of a number of years when the family resided near Garnett, Kansas, she had always made her home at the place of her birth. She received her education at the Union Valley school, and in childhood and youth was a regular attendant at the services of the Scandia United Brethren Sunday school. At the time of her death she was a member of the Mutual Benefit Club. On October 21, 1908, she was united in marriage to Emil Boman, at Scandia, and to this union nine children were born. A daughter Evelyn Rose, who preceded her mother in death on April 26, 1928. Mrs. Boman’s memory will ever be cherished in the hearts of her bereaved husband and family, as well as in the hearts of those who were privileged to be her friends because of her cheerful, sunny disposition which never failed even when the burdens of life pressed hard upon her. She was always thoughtful of others, and would ever conceal the stress of her personal life with a sweet smile for those about her. Her life was one of real devotion to her husband, children and grandchildren, as well as to her beloved parents in their declining years, and the faithful care which she so willingly gave to Mr. and Mrs. John Boman when they were ill will ever be remembered as a memorial to her gracious personality. Those who mourn her leave-taking are: Her husband, Emil Boman; her children, Edwin H. Boman, of Auburn, Neb.; Fred E. Died at her home two miles south of Republic, Kansas, April 18, 1924, at the age of 82 years, 7 months 23 days. She was married to Mr. Solomon Emmert at Laporte City, Iowa on April 2, 1872, and to this union four children were born: Sadie, the only daughter who died in infancy, and Edwin Grant, William Arthur, and Benjamin Miller all of this place. There are four grand children. Mrs. Emmert grew to womanhood in Westmoreland county, Penn. Shortly after her marriage she moved to Laporte City, Iowa, where she resided until 1889, when the family moved to Kansas and have lived near Republic all these years. She was a member of the Evangelical church since her childhood days. She is survived by two sisters, Belle Mickey of Pittsburg, Penn. and Margaret Burns of Ligonier, Penn.; four brothers, Hiram McDowell of Ligonier, Penn., Godfrey McDowell of Scandia, Kansas, Will McDowell of Lewistown, Montana and Edwin McDowell of NewDerry, Penn., and many dear friends.
