It still exists too. It's a very small town. My husbands Varney family lived in Windom (formerly Laura), McPherson County, KS. I understand that at one time there were two different Varney families there. It might be interesting to note that Saxman (Rice Co.) and Windom (McPherson Co.) are not very far apart. Actually, the Santa Fe Trail runs between the two locations. I don't show your Miles Standish Varney in my tree.
