His son John Joseph Ward was born 6 Nove 1850 in Rearsby, Leicstershire, England, came to the US when he was 14 and eventally settled in Belleville, Republic, Kansas. He died 23 April 1919 in Belleville. His wife was Emma Jane Robertson, she was born 22 Oct 1861 in Primrose, Lee, Iowa. they had nine children.
