I met her a few times when I was young. I knew her as Aunt Maude. Aunt Maude married Homer Davis. Her sister, Nota, is possibly a misspelling in the census. Nota is actually Meta Fern West. Meta was born June 16, 1891 in Sterling, Rice County, KS. She married Oliver Estes Reed on April 23, 1911 in Hutchinson, Reno Co., KS and died in May 1972 in Tulsa, Osage County, OK. One of Meta's granddaughters has been intensley looking for the father of Aaron Norvel West for some time, but to no avail. However, a recent internet search on my part show his father to be Enos West. Enos West was born abt. 1820 in Fairfield, Columbiana Co., OH. Enos married Sarah Priscilla Pierce in May 1845 in Cuyahoga Co., Ohio and he died June 10, 1869 in Independence, Cuyahoga Co., OH. The only information I have on Sarah Pierce is that she was born in Feb 1822 "in New York". Meta Fern West said that they were very poor growing up and that her dad worked for a time for her "Uncle Jerome". Aaron Norvel West and Ida Pinyard West had a third daughter which died as a child. Aaron also had a 1/2 brother, 1/2 sister and "2 bro/sister". (Notations were made by Meta Fern West Reed.) Please contact me if you need more information.
