Hello list, I am looking for a picture of the Brethern Church in Hutchinson for my mother. She will be 92 this year and she says she can remember as a very little girl climbing the steps without help from her parents. I believe the church picture I am looking for is not the current Brethern Church. This would be of the church building in existance circa 1915-1916. Hoping that there is a picture in an historical book that someone might be able to scan to me. Thanks in advance for any help. Louise in OK

Hi Louise, I have a picture of "The Church of the Brethern" at Darlow, just north of the cemetery. The original church was torn down around 1935 and was replaced by a "new" church building. The latter church building was sold in 1967 and supposedly moved to Yoder and was remodeled as a house. It's been a few years since I've been in that area of Kansas but Yoder is just south of South Hutchinson by only a couple miles. The church at Darlow was another couple miles south and a mile or so east. Is this possibly the church you are looking for? If you don't mind me asking, what was your mother's maiden name or the name of those who attended this church?
