I live in Michigan but am planning a trip to Witchita,KS this month. Would I be able to search these indexes if I went to Topeka to vital records? What are the rules or guidelines for genealogical research there? Also for an individual who died in 1886 - where would that death record be found? I know they are all buried in Laurel Cemetery, Yoder Twp. KS. I have already checked with the county and they do not have the records for these individuals. Thanks for any assistance you can provide.
