His 1st wife was Ora something (Martin, I think), who died at age 18 of pneumonia. I have little info on "Orlie's" 3rd wife, not even her name at this time, except that it is known that he was married a 3rd time. Ora is buried with the Glass family in Eastside Cemetery, Hutchinson, KS. I think her mother was a widow and in a pretty tight financial condition. Gertrude Ella Minner had six children with Orlie. There was Chester Orlando, an infant boy buried here (Hutchinson, Eastside cemetery), Ernest Lorenzo, Menota Gertrude, Wesley Christopher, and Margie. Orlie Glass was the oldest of 7 children of John Wesley Glass and Emma Annetta Freeman. They were Charles Orlando, Lulu Anna, Welcome Edwin, Hazel Urdine, Jay Winfield, Mabelle Wanita, and Helen Esther. Helen died at 3 months of age. Lulu Anna Glass was married to Chester Ellison VanDolah Coleman. Lulu, already in poor health, died 17 May 1927 of complications of childbirth. The last two of their children were not robust enough to survive, only living for a few days after their births. Donna was born and died in March 1926, and Ronald b. 17 May and d. 18 May 1927. According to our family legends, passed down to us from Orlie's brother Welcome (my husband's grandfather), Gertie Minner Glass left her husband, Orlie, because of his drinking (he apparently had quite a problem with it), in 1927 or 1928. I don't suppose we will ever really know the truth about who left whom, unless someone left a diary. Perhaps it was mutual agreement. She married Chester E.V. Coleman, widowed by Orlie's sister's death, sometime during 1930 in Florida. Much of this info came from Coleman genealogists. I don't have any idea when Orlie remarried. Gert and Chester are buried here at Hutchinson. I can't support the claim, but unsubstantiated reports (rumors, family legends, etc.) indicated that their son Ernest Lorenzo Glass also had a sizable drinking problem, and that the son Chester Orlando Glass had very little to do with the rest of his siblings. Christopher Wesley Glass lived at Greensburg, KS with his family, and is buried there. We know next to nothing about Margie Glass, except that she is reported to have married a Larry Skinner. We don't have a lot of information on Menota Glass, either, but there's more on her than on Margie. If you are able to supplement anything I have here, or fill me in on some Minner family information, or have further questions, I would be pleased to hear from you again. Claudia
