    1. Obituary for Lamonts 1896, 1915
    2. This is a follow-up to a prior message with additional info: I am looking for obituary for a resident of Haynesville (Michael Lamont) who died on Jan 16, 1896, and was buried in Turon Cemetery. Also seeking obituary for his wife, Belle/Belbins Lamont, who died on March 17, 1915, and, I am told, was also buried in Turon Cemetery. Is there a way to access newspapers from that year via the internet, or a list of researchers who are available to look them up? I understand that no death certificates were kept in KS at that time. I called the Union Pacific office and they say unless I have the S.S. number they cannot help me in any way. :( My Uncle died in 1962 and in that year the workers only had Railroad worker numbers and in 1963 they all had the S.S. numbers. Anyway, I found this info below and thought .... Ghee all this info is just sitting there. :( Wondering if anyone knew this and or if maybe in the works someone might do something with the records. Such a waste for them to just sit there. ( see below ) the info I found. The Missouri Pacific Historical Society We have no records, no employment forms, no paycheck records. All such records are today owned by the Union Pacific R.R. and are in storage at the Hutchinson, Kansas salt mines -- off limits to all but the lawyers. The Union Pacific declines to help with former MP employee genealogy requests.
