Any help there would be appreciated. Is your husband a descendent of her marriage to Charles or of his second marriage? Sorry, this genealogy stuff gets to you. Thanks again.

Zachary, the caretaker, is very helpful. He does a lot of lookups for me, and I try to help him upgrade his records from time to time by sending him obituaries for some of the interments when he doesn't have a copy with the record. If Johnson & Sons or Elliott did the burial, you'll want to get in touch with them. They may still have the record of the funeral in their files. The Hutchinson News may also have carried the obituary, and that is available on microfilm.

If nobody looks this up for you, microfilm is available if you wish to order a copy to look at. Sometimes you can also contact the cemetery to discover which funeral home participated in the services, and they might - if they're still in operation - have some more information about family members or who owned the plot. Johnson & Sons, and Elliott Mortuary, are still in business and have good records. We are looking for Robertson in our family, too, trying to find relatives of William Jonah Robertson (1890-1941), who was supposed to have had a brother, possibly a twin, who lived in Oklahoma for a time. Jonah lived here in Hutchinson. If this name rings any bells with you, please let me know.

They may either know where a copy of the 1948 Allagaroo - yes, that's the name - can be obtained, or where you might be able to find one to look at. Someone at Hutch High will also be able to tell you who is on the 1948 class reunion committee, so that you might be able to contact other class members to pose your question. Whether your father is still living or not, they will want to get an update for their reunion info booklet and let the rest of his classmates know about him. Don't overlook previous yearbooks. If your father was a student there his entire high school career, you might want to try to look at 1946 and 1947 as well, because some of the candid pictures included various members of the student body involved with different activities. Luckily, even if you can't find an Allagaroo to purchase, you'll be able to find somebody who will be able to procure you some laser photocopies of any pictures you want reproduced.
