    1. [KSReno] MILITARY RECORDS
    2. Bill Love
    3. MILITARY RECORDS in your ancestors’ past? If you are searching for them, you may pick up some tips after reading Trevor K. Plante’s article, “An Overview of Records at the National Archives Relating to Military Service.” According to Trevor, “When researchers contact the National Archives to conduct research on their ancestors, they often ask about records relating to military service. Unfortunately, there is no simple answer. The inquiry, in fact, leads to more questions: What branch of service did the person serve in? Do you know the conflict they fought in or their dates of service? Was the person in the Regular Army or a volunteer unit? Did the individual serve as an officer or enlisted man? Did the person apply for or receive a pension? These questions are important, for the answers help determine which search paths to follow.” Interested in reading and learning more? Military records on your check-list of genealogical documents to obtain? If you answered “yes” to either question, then Trevor’s article, in its entirety is a must read. Find it at: http://www.archives.gov/publications/prologue/fall_2002_military_records_overview.html Happy hunting! Bill W. They would all have been married in Reno county between 1916-1930. This may be out of the range of your records, but I thought I'd ask. Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/Vm.2ADE/516.522 Message Board Post: It has been a long time since you posted this query, but I thought I'd respond anyway. There was a small town called Sego most likely in the mid-1800's. The only thing remaining where the town once existed is the Sego Cemetery. It lies maybe 8-10 miles west of Pretty Prairie, KS, in the middle of farm country. It's a well-maintained cemetery. My grandparents and ancestors are buried there. I visited it about 8 or 9 years ago and was pleasantly surprised at the shape it's in. Someone takes very loving care of it. My family consists of Van Vleets, Warfields, and Stevens. I don't recall your family name there, but you might check with the Reno Co. Historical Society. Good luck!
