Hi, I want to share with you that I have information on the Clark School District #157 Langdon Twp., Reno County. I have in my possession the original records from the forming of the school district in 1897 through the last year 1938. The books contain the notes of meetings, budget information, names of teachers and their salaries, students names and grades and also has a report at the end of the year what was taught, games they played and visitors to the classroom. I would be happy to do look ups for any one that might have had family members who attended this school. If possible please give me the years they would have attended. My husbands Great Grandfather William S. Clark was the person who donated the land and was the first "principal". Several of the Clark children attended this school and some where the teachers. Donna Barnes Clark

Is there anyone who can help me with this. Thankyou

The note that I found is about 20 years old and doesn't include a county name, and of course, had the incorrect spelling of the town. Now I have a county - been looking for a long time for that! I am anxious to start searching in the county sites you provided, but must leave my research until tomorrow morning.....what a bummer! Thank you very much for the speedy help! It's spelled Burrton and is in Harvey County, Kansas, although just a fifteen minute drive from Hutchinson (west of Burrton), which is in Reno County. We live in newton, Harvey County, which is fifteen minutes to the east of Burrton. Our Harvey County Historical Society has loads of information about Burrton. Their website is: http://www.hchm.org and there is also Harvey County (Burrton) information here: http://skyways.lib.ks.us/genweb/harvey/index.html . Hope this helps you! Three of his children were born in Kansas while they lived there, one of whom was my husband's grandfather. I used Rootsweb Town Search to try to locate Burton, but it doesn't recognize the town. The note I found also has Hutchison listed. Is Burton near Hutchison? Is anyone familiar with this town? I would like to look up the 1875 State Census for Reno County, particularly for Burton, but need more information on Burton. Thank you for your help. Lynne Bennett bhwb@aol.com
