The 2nd born son after the mother's father. The 3rd born son after the father. 4th, 5th etc... after uncles and/or biblical names. (a general practice of naming but not always used) My guess to Bartholomew's boys: William............ 1st son inherited plantation ***I'm digging on a possible William between Bart & George. (I'll explain later). Yes I have some info. Remember that Bart said he was "heir" of George Baynum John.................2nd son named after Elloners father/stepfather. Bartholomew II ............. 3rd son named after Bartholomew Levi ..................... 4th son a Biblical name.

Where did you find this? Ananias Bainum named a son, Levi Hargus Bainum. Later research points to Levi Bainum as being Ananias' father. (though he might be John's) Hezekiah, Ananias, Isaac, Greer, and Levi (father) appear closely in tax records. John Bainum in tax records seems to be replaced by a William Bainum (probably William Beavins Bainum).

I have seen spectulated births from another researcher, but they are only speculated. I have researched the Delmarva Pen (maryland, delaware, and Va (accomack & northampton) with no avail. Here's what we definitly know as fact: Bartholomew I was in the 1733 tax lists Maryland. For him to be listed he would have had to be at least 16 years old. Making him born before 1717. His will was proved on Aug 8th, 1759. Bartholomew would sell some of his property to a William Bainum in 1756 and then leave the plantation to his son, William I in 1759. Nowhere .............................has the dates of his sons been found........ yet? I do believe that Bartholomew and Elloner was probably married in 1733. Because of Bartholomew being in the household of Thomas Midgley in the tax record. Thomas Midgley was Elloner's brother or half-brother. Her mother, Usley, being married at least twice. To a Mr. Midgley and then to a John Greer. Bartholomew Baynum was an "heir" of George Baynum. George would be dead by 1700/1 (documents that I found in Accomack/Northampton Cos, Virginia) In those documents only daughter Ann is mentioned as being about 12 years old. Making her born abt 1688. She was boundout due to her being an orphan.

    2. Thanks to all who answered my query about the township that Hutchinson is in. I managed to find the man I was looking for but he was the right age, right name and wrong man. Oh well I will keep looking for him. He was in West Virginia in 1901 and Kansas is a far piece away as they say, but everyone was on the move so was real hopeful. Thanks again. Jerilyn
