The Topeka Daily Capital Monday January 31, 1966 Ross Metzler Dies at 86. Carbondale.--Ross R. METZLER, 86, Carbondale, died Sunday at an Overbrook nursing home after a short illness. He was born Dec. 12, 1879, four miles east of Carbondale and spent all his life in the Carbondale community. He was a member of the Community Congregational Church at Carbondale. He was a farmer and stockman and was a member of several farmers' organizations. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Grace Fox Metzler, of the home; two sons, Dwight F. Metzler, Lawrence, and Hugh E. Metzler, Arkansas City; a sister, Mrs. Hope KAFF, Overbrook; and six grandchildren. Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Carbondale Community Congregational Church. Burial will be in Ridgeway Cemetery northeast of Carbondale. Memorial contributions may be made to the Carbondale Community Congregational Church. Baker Funeral Home at Overbrook is in charge of arrangements.
