It's interesting that their intended destination was Chicago, although in fact they landed at Castle Garden in New York City on 22 May 1872 and had made it to Osage County, KS, by September of that year. I now know that Herman Granat died there between 1880 and 1900, and his widow, Elise/Eliza, moved to Osage City after his death and was still alive by 1915, although she must have died by 1920.
