Sorry, more information but not an answer. I found Zachariah FETTY and family in the 1910 census. They had moved from Osage Co. into Franklin Co., Greenwood Township really only a few miles. By 1920 I do not find Zachariah, presumably he is deceased, but I do find Lizza A. FETTY and the two youngest children still living in Franklin Co. By 1930 I don't find any FETTYs in this area. Finally after many dead ends (no pun intended), I found Zachariah and Elizabeth A. FETTY's burial on Find-a-Grave. They are buried in the Woodlawn Cemetery, Pomona, Franklin, KS. I will attempt to attach the photo here but don't know if the Rootsweb site will accept attachments/inserts? (or the link is http://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=gr&GSln=FETTY&GSiman=1&GScid=94103&GRid=64353648& ) Zachariah was b. 1848, d. 1917, and Elizabeth b. 1865 and d. 1951. There is also a picture/listing for Lizzy A. FETTY, with same birth and death dates so I assume it’s a foot stone for Elizabeth above. Four other FETTYs are buried in this cemetery Emma FETTY, 1892 -1918, (presumably daughter of Zachariah and Elizabeth) and Jesse A. FETTY (son of Zachariah and Elizabeth) 1911-1977, and Velma Rose (Ramshaw) FETTY 1915-2005, wife of Jesse. And finally, Hattie Leona (FETTY) THORNBRUGH 1897-1943 (wife of Frank THORNBRUGH), she was a daughter of Zachariah FETTY and Elizabeth ROGERS FETTY. But alas, nothing on your William. So, I'm out of on-line search ideas for William. Another suggestion, is to contact the Osage County Historical Society (http://www.osagechs.org/research.htm). They have an extensive collection of obituaries back to the 1880s, with over 43,000 names and do research for a modest fee (see website for details on cost). Their on-line index lists only one FETTY, Mrs. Caroline E. FETTY, but they do have other research resources. It might be worth a shot. Eldon P.S. Given that Elizabeth was several years younger than Zachariah and there are step children listed in the census records, Mrs. Caroline A. FETTY may be a first wife of Zachariah. Since I never found a burial listing for her either, the obituary (if she is Zachariah's first wife) might provide some additional leads regarding burial location. William may have been buried but no stone placed. However, there are internment records for some of the cemeteries. -----Original Message----- From: gc-gateway@rootsweb.com Sent: Wednesday, March 09, 2011 5:08 AM To: KSOSAGE-L@rootsweb.com Subject: Re: [KSOSAGE] William Fetty This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. I am stuck in this. I have ordered 3 reels of microfilm of the Quenemo newspaper to look through but for some reason my library never seems to get anything from the KSHS library.
