I realize the name is not the same, however the initials E. M are, and I have found in that era it was common for nicknames to be used on marriage licenses. My grandmother and two sisters married in Osage Co. in the 1880's and all are listed by their nicknames, rather than their formal names. You might search later census for Osage Co. under THOMPSON and see if you might find Emma and William, or if it stays Effie? Eldon M.
