Johnnie Mary Ann was a sister of John & Thomas Jones. They left Wales with their father and stepmother. Upon arriving in Kansas City, their father went to purchase the train tickets while they waited. He never returned. Money was raised locally to send the four of them to their destination in Arvonia. Once they arrived in Arvonia, the stepmother decided that she didn't want to raise the 3 children on her own so she abandoned them, as well.
