The Carbondale Independent Osage County Thursday April 5, 1883 City Election. The usual city election took place on Monday, but there was no excitement, not even enough to caue a ripple on our streets. The following is the vote: For mayor, S. MINSHALL, 75; for Police Judge, J.G. ELLIS, 75; for councilmen, R.B. McKEE, 77; Fred ROESSLER, 77; Geo. WAETZIG, 51; S.J. IRVIN, 51; Morgan MEREDITH, 50; W.H. REED, 25; Charles DAVIS, 27; Wm. IRVIN, 27. This makes as officers for the present year, S. MINSHALL, mayor; J.G. ELLIS, Police Judge; R.B. McKEE, Fred ROESSLER, George WAETZIG, S.J. IRVIN and Mrogan MEREDITH, councilmen. S.MINSHALL is well known as mayor, and is an efficient officer, while J.G. ELLIS as police judge, has been tried and not found wanting. It is hoped that the new council will carry out all the improvements commenced by the old, and also many new ones.
