The Journal Free Press Osage County Wednesday November 15, 1944 Jones--Thorne. Miss Margaret E. JONES was united in marriage to S-Sgt. Alton N. THORNE, both of Lebo, Thursday afternoon, November 2, in Emporia. Rev. J.C. Brogan read the double ring ceremony at the parsonage of the Grace Methodist church. The couple was unattended. Mrs. Thorne is a graduate of Lebo high school and had been working in California. S-Sgt. Thorne had just completed twenty six months of service in Alaska. He left Thursday night for Camp Swift, Texas, for reassignment. S-Sgt. Thorne is a son of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Thorne of Lebo.--Lebo Enterprise.

The Journal Free Press Osage County Wednesday November 8, 1944 Mr. and Mrs. Roy JENKINS announces the marriage of their daughter, Bertha Irene, to Pvt. Clayton FINLAY, which took place Wedesday, November 1, at Holton, Kansas. Pvt. Finlay is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Philip Finlay, of Carbondale, Kans., Pvt. Finlay is with the Signal Corps and is now stationed at Camp Crowder, Mo. The bride is employed at the Supply Depot at Topeka and is living in Burlingame at the present.

The Topeka Daily Capital Sunday November 3, 1918 Corp. Wimmer Over. Word has been received of the safe arrival overseas of Corp. John J. WIMMER, of F. Company, 343rd infantry, Fifty-sixth division, by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Wimmer, 517 Jefferson. Before his enlistment Corporal Wimmer was a nurse in the state hospital at Rochester, Minn. He was born and raised in Topeka, and has many friends here.

The Journal Free Press Osage County Wednesday October 18, 1944 Mr. and Mrs. William NELSON annonce the marriage of their daughter, Helen, to Mr. Wayne STANDIFERD, son of Mrs. Eleanor Standiferd, on Thursday evening, October 19, 1944. the wedding took place in the Grace Lutheran church of Osage City at 7:30 p.m., the Rev. Reuben P. Kron officiating. The wedding music was furnished by Mrs. Reuben Kron. Following the ceremony a reception for the bridal couple was held at the home of the bride's parents, after which the couple left on a short honeymoon. Both Mr. and Mrs. Standiferd are graduates of the Osage City High School. Mrs. Standiferd has been employed at the McCall Hardware store the past two yhears and Mr. Standiferd recently received an honorable discharge from the U.S. Navy, where he had served for two years. The happy couple have gone to housekeeping on the Jenkins farm and their many friends extend congratulations and best wishes for a long and happy wedded life.

The Journal Free Press Osage County Wednesday October 25, 1944 Death of Mrs. J.C. Carson. Passed Away at Home of Her Daughter, Mrs. W.P. Randall, Tuesday Evening. Mrs. J.C. CARSON, mother of Mrs. W.P. RANDALL, passed away at the home of her daughter, on Tuesday evening. She is survived by her husband, J.C. Carson, and three children, V.W. Carson, of Bliss, Idaho, Mrs. G.W. LINDAHL, of La Jolla, Calif., and Mrs. Randall. Her brother, Rev. Frank E. RYERSON, is pastor of the Washington Ave. church, Parsons, Kansas, and was formerly District Superintendent of the Emporia District. After a short service at the Randall home on Thursday morning, at 10:30 the family will leave for Clay Center, where services will be held from the Methodist church on Friday afternoon.

A group of children had a big time assisting her with many nice gifts. A delicious lunch was served.
