RANDALL was in Baldwin Friday and Saturday of last week attending a meeting of the Trustees of Baker University and sharing the activities connected with the eighty-seventh commencment of the college. At the Senior Chapel exercises on Saturday morning, Miss Margaret MEYER, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles MEYER, was given special recognition for high scholarship rating during her Freshman year. Miss Meyer is also private secretary to Mr. T.A. EVANS, Alumni Secretary of the University.

Mr. and Mrs. G.C. LOHMEYER and grandson, Bobbie Edwards and Mrs. Ella GREEK attended church Mothers day at Arvonia after which they were dinner guests in the home of Mr. and Mrs. Clarence SMALL and Mrs. Mary Small.
The Journal Free Press Wednesday May 16, 1945 Mrs. T.R. YOUNG and son, of Mt. Carmel, Ill., came the latter part of the week to visit in the home of her mother, Mrs. Mary ANSTAETT, and family. Mrs. Fred FELTNER returned to Topeka Friday after spending a week visiting her mother, Mrs. Ella GREEK in Osage City, her daughter, Mrs. Dale WASHBURN and children in Emporia and also with relatives in Olivet.
The Journal Free Press Wednesday May 16, 1845 Mr. and Mrs. Frank J. SMITH visited Topeka last Friday with their son, Verl Smith, F 1-c USN, wife and daughter. Verl is from Newport, R.I. and was home on a fifteen day furlough, during which time he was ill and unable to leave home. Lawrence STEWART, Jr., is confined to the Stewart home with the measles this week.
The Journal Free Press Wednesday May 9, 1945 Fractured Collar Bone. Robert CURLEY had the misfortune to fracture his collar bone while tumbling at the High School gymnasium one day last week. It will be a few weeks before he will be able to use his left arm.
The Journal Free Press Osage County Wednesdsay May 9, 1945 Former Resident Dies in Topeka. Funeral Services for Orrin W. Nicolay Held Here May 8. Funeral services were held at the Mission Covenant church in Osage City Tuesday afternoon, May 8, for Orrin W. NICOLAY, 59, wo passed away at his home in Topeka on May 5. The Rev. Windtedt, of Topeka, conducted the services and burial was made in the Union cemetery. Mr. Nicolay and family lived in Osage City for several years, moving to Topeka about six years ago. For a time while here, he was employed by the state highway department. He was a native of Scranton, Kans. He leaves a family of grown children, two sons being in the service overseas. Mrs. Ralph Peterson living northest of Osage City is a daughter.

Mr. and Mrs. Carl SMITH and family were in Topeka Sunday attending the wedding of Lela BROWN. Mrs. Mary E. WELLS returned to Topeka Saturday after a few days' visit with her daughter, Mrs. Lawrence STEWART, husband and son. Mrs. Mary SMALL of Arvonia visited her daughter, Mrs. G.C. LOHMEYER and Mr. Lohmeyer and Mrs. Ella GREEK in Osage City last week.
The Journal Free Press Wednesday April 25, 1945 Friends will be regret to learn Mrs. O.H. THOMAS, of Lyndon, is ill at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Howard WILDMAN, in Topeka. She was taken to a hospital in Topeka on April 15 and it was feared she might have to undergo an emergency operation. She was given medical care immediately and improved to the extent she has been removed to the home of her daughter.

We are pleased to report Mrs. McKinley LOHMEYER, who underwent a major operation in the Security Benefit hospital in Topeka last Friday is recovering satisfactorily. Mr. Lohmeyer spent Tuesday with his wife and report it will be necessary for her to be a hospital patient for a few weeks.
The Journal Free Press Osage County Wednesday April 11, 1945 Capt. and Mrs. Howard HUNTER, of Topeka, announce the birth of a girl born on April 6, weighing 7 pounds and 4 ounces at birth. The child has been given the name of Katherine Ann. Mrs. Hunter and infant daughter are patients in the Stormont hospital. Capt. Hunter is serving with the U.S. Army overseas. C.A. Hunter of Topeka is a grandfather and Mrs. C.J. RENSTROM of Osage City a great grandmother of the little lady.

The child weighed 6 pounds and 11 ounces at birth and has been given the name Mary Jo. Mrs. James and infant daughter are in Kansas City, Mo., and the father is overseas. William James of Osage City is a grandfather of Mary Jo.
The Journal Free Press Osage County Wednesday April 11, 1945 Mr. and Mrs. Charles COFFMAN announce the birth of a daughter, April 6, 1945. The young lady weighed six pounds, fourteen ounces, and has been given the name of Janet Sue. Mother and baby are being cared for at Lawrence Memorial hospital, Lawrence, Kans. Mrs. Coffman is a granddaughter of Mrs. A. GIBLER, formerly of Osage City but now living in Kansas City, Mo. This is Mrs. Gibler's second great grandchild.
The Journal Free Press Wednesday April 11, 1945 Mrs. Amelia KUYKENALL has purchased the Robert WAETZIG home on South Sixth street. Mrs. Kuykendall and daughter, Miss Esther, will move to their new home as soon as vacated by the Waetzig family, which will be within the next few weeks. This cottage is modern and very compact and will make a cozy home for Mrs. Kuykendall and daughter.

The Journal Free Press Osage County Wednesday March 28, 1945 Funeral services of Mrs. Robert FORBES, 86, of Carbondale, who died in a Topeka hospital March 21, was held Friday afternoon from the Community church in Carbondale and burial was made in the Carbondale cemetery. Mrs. Forbes was a pioneer resident of Osage county.

Mrs. Kittel and infant daughter are patients in the Newman hospital in Emporia.
