The Journal Free Press Osage County Wednesday August 29, 1945 Family Reunion. The seventh annual reunion of the descendants of the John Jacob NICOLAY family was held at Gage Park in Topeka, Sunday, August 26. About 65 members were present and a most enjoyable time was held by all present. Letters were read from Chester SNYDER, of Fresno, Calf., also Mrs. Helen BEBB of Seattle, Wash., which were very much appreciated. The fact that aunt Josie SUPPLE, of Michigan Valley, Kans., the only living direct descendant, being in the Stormont hospital, Topeka, ahd a depressing effect, altho her condition is not serious and expects to return home in a day or two. Of the thirty-eight members of the family in the armed forces, only one, Millard Edwin SUPPLE, has made the supreme sacrifice for our country. Aunt Barbara NICOLAY,of Detroit, Mich., was the oldest member present and Stephen Lloyd RYAN of Osage City being the youngest. Ernest NICOLAY, of Detroit, Mich., arrived overland in time for the meeting. They adjourned to meet at Gage Park in 1946.

I located a marriage record in Franklin Co., KS for Julia Hasty and L.N. Thornbrugh, on 12 Sept 1886. I continue to find Julia (Hasty) Thornbrugh up to the 1900 census but then nothing further on her or her children. L.N. (Lemuel Newton) Thornbrugh was not listed with her on the 1900 census. Does anyone know what happened to them? Or what became of Julia's children? I have tracked all of L.N. Thornbrugh's children, from an earlier marriage, but the mystery remains in regards to Julia (Hasty) and L.N. Thornbrugh.
