    3. The Journal Free Press Osage County Wednesday April 3, 1946 Tom BAILEY, one of the oldest citizens of Reading died at his home Thrusday afternoon. He leaves one brother, John of Osage City. Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon at the Methodist church and interment was in the Reading cemetery.(Reading.)

Mr. and Mrs. Sidney MORRIS and daughter of Ottawa, visited here Friday evening with Mr. Morris' mother and aunt, Mrs. Amanda Morris and Miss Emily JOHNSON. Miss Irene Morris, a teacher in the Onage High School, spent the weekend with her mother and aunt, Mrs. Amanda Morris and Miss Emily Johnson.

The marriage took place on Saturday, March 2, 1946, at 4:30 o'clock at the Parish house of St. James Church, Kansas City, Mo., the Mgs. Keyes officiating. The couple were attended by Miss Wilma DAVIS, sister of the bride and Mr. Roland Obermier, both of Kansas City, Mo., acting as bridesmaid and best man. The bride wore a rose wool suit and white accessories and corsage of white carnations. The bridesmaid wore a gray wool suit with white accessories. The bridegroom and best man wore dark business suits. The bride is a graduate of the Barclay High school and the Central Business College of Kansas City, Mo. The groom has recently returned from service with the Signal Corps in the South Pacific having been with the armed services two years and overseas 20 months. He is employed as an accountant with the Panhandle Pipe Filling Company. Mrs. M.A. Davis and twin sons, Clyde and Clifford of Barclay attended the wedding.

The marriage of Miss Lois Anna HILE, of Melvern and Mr. Willie TYSON, of Osage City, took place in Lyndon, Friday afternoon, March 15. Mrs. Tyson is a rural school teacher of this county and is teaching a district school near Melvern. Mr. Tyson is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Tyson, living in the east part of town. He received his honorable discharge from the Army a few months ago. Mr. and Mrs. Tyson are making their home with his parents at this time. Their many friends extend congratulations and best wishes.

The wedding took place Tuesday March 12, at the Lutheran parsonage in St. Francis, Kansas, the Rev. L. C. Schroeder read the single ring ceremony. The only attendant of the couple was the bride's sister, Miss Marjorie Thompson. Both the bride and bridegroom are graduates of the North High School of Denver. Mr. and Mrs. Warren NEWTON of Reading, announce the marriage of their daughter, Joyce Isabel, to Mr. Harry Irving JENNINGS, Jr., son of Mr. and Mrs. Harry Jennings, Sr., of Portland, Oregon. The wedding took place Sunday, March 10, at high noon, at the Baptist parsonage in Stella, Neb., the Rev. J. F. Teel, reading the double ring ceremony. The couple were attended by Miss Phyllis Lusk and brother, Mr. harry Lusk, of Olivet. The bride chose for her wedding a brown silk dress and brown accessories. Her flowers were a corsage of white carnations. The bridesmaid wore a dress of acqua blue and a corsage of pink carnations. The bridegroom and bestman wore dark business suits. Following the ceremony the bridal party were guests at a dinner given by the Rev. and Mrs. Teel. The bride, a young lady of pleasant personality was graduated from the Reading High School. The bridegroom was graduated from the Olivet High School, where he made an outstanding recored as a basketball player. He served with the armed forces with the Navy having recently returned from overseas and received his honorable discharge. Mr. and Mrs. Jennings will make their home on the J.C. and R.L. Booth farm south of Osage City. Congratulations and best wishes are extended by their many friends.

BOYCE, living at Eighth and Main streets, will observe their 62nd wedding anniversary Thursday, March 14. This fine elderly couple, who have been residents of Osage County more than 45 years, are quite feeble and the day will be a quiet one for them. Their children are Harvey Boyce and family, living on the home place south of town; Oliver C. Boyce, of Denver, Colo.; Leslie Boyce, wife and daughter of Topeka; Mrs. Ermal (Victoria) MELLENBAUGH and husband of Topeka; Mrs. Bertha TIDRICK of Osage City, and Mrs. Sadie B. CUTSHAW of Concordia. The many friends of Mr. and Mrs. Boyce wish them many more happy anniversaries.

    3. The Journal Free Press Osage County Wednesday February 27, 1946 Ellis--Bishop Marriage In Lyndon. The marriage of Miss Delaris ELLIS to Mr. William A. BISHOP son of Mr. and Mrs. William Bishop of Osage City, took jplace at 3 o'clock February 22 at the home of the bride's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Walter R. Ellis in Lyndon. The Rev. P.C. Irwin, pastor of the Presbyterian church, ready the double ring service before an arrangement of gladioli and ferns. Mrs. William K. HOLMES, matron of honor, wore a pink satin and net dress with bodice of the satin and net overskirt and carried Talisman rosebuds. The bride was lovely in a white satin dress with white net overskirt, made with sweethear neckline, long sleeves ending in points over the hands and applique of satin roses on the skirt. She carried red roses. Mr. Elmer Bishop was best man for his brother. A reception followed the ceremony. The three-tiered wedding cake and a centerpiece of gladioli, jonquils and iris decorated the table. Miss Leona Bishop, the bridegroom's sister, assisted. The bride's mother wore a blue silk jersey dress. The bridegroom's mother wore a tailored green wool dress. Their corsages were gardenias. For traveling the bride wore a blue gabardine suit with brown accessories and corsage of roses. She is a graduate of the Lyndon High School and was employed for three years in the office of Hall Brothers. Mr. Bishop graduated from the Barclay High School and is engaged in farming near Osage City.

    3. The Journal Free Press Osage County Wednesday February 27, 1946 Killed When Struck By Automobile. Harve L. WEIMER, 66, of Brookfield, Mo., was killed Wednesday night, February 20, 1946, when he was struck by an automobile while crossing the street. He was struck by a 1940 Ford coach driven by Ronald D. GOOCH, of Marceline, Mo., and the body was carried some distance before the car was stopped. Death was instantaneous. Harve Luther, son of Jake and Margaret WEIMER was born October 15, 1879 in Westmoreland county, Pennsylvania. He was a brother of John Weimer of Brookfield, Mo., and George Wiemer and Mrs. Joe CRIQUI of Olivet, Kans. Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon at 3:30 o'clock from the Assembly of God Church, in Brookfield, Mo., the Rev. K.E. Matchulat, conducting the services. Interment was made in the Rose Hill cemetery. Louis and George Weimer and Harve Criqui attended the funeral.

The bride, a former Red Cross nurse, who recently received her honorable discharge having served overseas in the European Theatre of War, is an assistant in the Dr. Ed Hashinger offices in Kansas City, Kans. The groom was a Chief Yoeman in the United States Navy until his recent retirement. The couple are living in Kansas City, Kans., at this time and have the best wishes and congratulations of a host of friends.

The groom is an ex-service man, working at the Supply Depot at Pauline. The many friends of Mr. and Mrs. Britt extend congratulations and best wishes for a long and happy married life.

    3. The Journal Free Press Wednesday February 20, 1946 Staff Sgt. E.O. DAVIS, of Fort Leavenworth and wife and sister, Mrs. O.D. JONES of Kansas City, Mo., spent the weekend north of town, visiting in the home of Mr. and Mrs. Joe SAHLBERG and also with Mrs. Sahlberg''s parents, Mr. and Mrs. William DAVIS. Mrs. E.O. DAVIS arrived in New York from South Hampton, England, coming over on the Queen Mary Ship. Mrs. Davis is an English woman of charming personality and a pleasure to meet. She reported her trip over a pleasant one. Sgt. Davis reported back to Fort Leavenworth Monday morning and hopes to be transferred to Topeka this week. Mr. and Mrs. Dean McDONALD, of Kansas City, Mo., were also Sunday guests in the Sahlberg home.
