YEAKLEY, of Culver, Kansas, is visiting her mother and A.W. HARPER at 426 Leland.--State Journal. The resumption of the alternate Wednesday teas by M.E. Ladies Aid was a resumption of their old time successes. At Mrs. W.T. DOOTY's the 28th, about twenty-five were present and passed a pleasant afternoon. They meet two weeks hence at Mrs. Joe S. DOOTY's.

The Topeka Daily Capital Wednesday December 22, 1965 Fern Spencer Dies at Age 54. Osage City.--Mrs. Fern SPENCER, 54, formerly of Lyndon and Winfield, died of an apparent heart attack Tuesday at an Osage City rest home where she had been the past nine months. A relative said Mrs. Spencer had suffered several strokes earlier. She was born Jan. 12, 1911 at Hope in Dickinson County. Sh elived at Winfield 11 years before moving to Osage City. Earlier she lived at Lyndon. Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Joe GARRISON, 403 N. Arter; a son, LeRoy SPENCER, Norton; two brothers, Harold STROTH, 613 Grattan, and Edward STROTH, 514 Scotland; four sisters, Mrs. Gladys TAYLOR, Route 4; Mrs. Vera KRAUSE, Hope; Mrs. Viola DEMPSEY, Wilmington, Calif.; and Mrs. Selma RIFFLE, Lodi, Calif.; and a granddaughter. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Parker Mortuary. Burial will be in Half Day Cemetery at Elmont.

The Melvern Review Thursday March 25, 1921 W.P. WOLFLEY, wife, and Miss Donnie DOOTY, Mary and Marguerite IREY, drove to Lyndon Friday to witness Melvern carry off the honors. Mrs. B.S. RICE has been confined to her home for a few weeks with tuberculer troubles. Mrs. Rachel E. SMITH, mother of Mrs. Minnie PURSLEY, had a very severe stroke of paralysis last week and is now with her daughter at the Commerical.
The Melvern Review Osage County Thursday March 25, 1920 Sutton--Plowman. Aline F. SUTTON and George C. PLOWMAN were married at Lyndon, Friday, March 12th. These young people both grew to manhood and womanhood in this community and with their pleasant and jolly disposition have made themselves favorites among a host of friends. A bountiful wedding supper was given by the brides mothers, Mrs. J.D. Sutton, on Monday evening with only the immediate relatives in attendance. Many useful presents were received. The Topeka Daily Capital Sunday December 9, 1965 Irene Slawson Dies Saturday; Rites Tuesday. Mrs. Irene A. SLAWSON, 64, 329 Clay, died Saturday in a Topeka hospital. She was born Feb. 14, 1901 near Perry. She lived in Osage County before moving to Topeka 20 years ago. She was a member of West Side Christian Church, Topeka Chapter No. 462, Order of the Eastern Star, and Daughters of the American Revolution. Survivors include her husband, Charles Slawson, of the home; a son, Charles J. Slawson, 11104 W. 4th; two brothers, Clyde SMITH and Walter SMITH, both of Scranton; and one granddaughter. Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Davidson-Eslinger-Duff Funeral Home. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Mrs. Slawson will lie at the funeral home after 10:30 a.m. Monday.
