Mr. West is a cousin of Mrs. B.S. RICE.
The Melvern Review Osage County Thursday August 24, 1922 Mrs. Harry NOBLIT received a message from her daughter, Mrs. Clarence LANGLEY, announcing the arrival of a son. She started at once for the home of her daughter in eastern Kansas.

CAMPBELL visited their daughter, Mrs. WILLIAMS at Halls Summitt Sunday. Mr. Williams came for them in his car. Mrs. Joe DOOTY has with her this week a couple of neices who will enjoy the picnic celebration.

The Melvern Review Thursday August 17,1922 Earl WHITE and family of California are here visiting his brother Art WHITE and family and sister, Mrs. Floyd SHIRLEY. All spent Sunday at the Floyd Shirley home. Frank SMITH, who has been visiting old-time friends here for the past ten days, started on his return trip last Thursday; he will stop en route to Ottawa, Kansas City and other points in this state to see friends. Mrs. DOOTY assumed charge of the Gleaner Class after an absence of several weeks.
The Melvern Review Osage County Thursday August 15, 1922 James Nixon Campbell, Jr. Was born June 20, 1849 at Paterson, New Jersy; moved with his parents in 1854 to Missouri, locating at St. Louis and later in Jefferson City. In 1867 they came to Lawrence, Kansas residing there until 1869 when they came to Osage County near Melvern, where he lived until death, Aug. 13, 1922. Aged 73 years years, 1 month and 23 days. At the death of his mother when he was eighteen years old, he took complete charge of the household and cared for his six younger brothers and sisters. He was a cripple all his life but was always patient and thoughtful of others even in his last illness. He leaves to mourn his departure, Mrs. Albert NEAR, of Lebo, Mrs. F.U. JUDD of Melvern, two brothers, W.H. and Edwin F. CAMPBELL of Melvern and five neices and six nephews.
The Melvern Review Thursday August 17, 1922 Alfred GRAHAM of K.C., formerly of Maxson, visited at the home of his old school mate, Mrs. John PATTERSON, south of town last Saturday afternoon and Sunday. They attended school together at Maxson years ago.

The Melvern Review Thursday June 15, 1922 The Salt Creek Pig Club near Lyndon, meets at the home of Wilbur HUMPRHEY's Saturday, June 10, 9 a.m. The Rooters Pig Club of near Melvern, meet with Russel EVERSTON, Saturday, June 10, 2 p.m. Both the Capper Pig Club and Poultry Clubs will hold a picnic in the City Park at Osage City, June 13th. The State manager of the Capper Clubs will be there and present the trophys won in the last contest.
