Wife Ellen remarries abt 1893 & appears in Scranton with new husband John Hall in 1895 census. Hoping someone can help/find him in death records in Scranton. I'm at that brick wall. Moved to Scranton w/husband Edwin Dangerfield abt 1886, had 12 children, appeared in 17 Apr 1906 wedding photo with youngest daughter Eliza & George Hope, did not (can't find) appear in 1910 or later census.... The Melvern Review Osage County Thursday December 25, 1924 Joseph JONES was born near Ottawa, Kansas, Nov. 28, 1869, and died at his home in Garden City, Kansas, Dec. 19, 1924. Age 55 years and 21 days. He was united in marriage to Miss Charlotte Jane ALLISON, July 4, 1894, at Melvern, Kansas. To this union were born two daughters, Nettie Cecil and Minnie Roene. He was a graduate of Baker University at Baldwin. He has been engaged in the mercantile business all his life, having been located at Quenemo, Eskridge, Lebo and Garden City. Mr. Jones was a member of the Masonic Lodge at Eskridge and the Elks at Garden City. The Masonic Lodge of Melvern had charge of the funeral and burial. The work of the Masonic Lodge, both at the church and cemetery was carried out very nicely and was so impressive. Mr. Jones was well known and had a large circle of friends who will greatly miss him. He leaves to mourn his loss an aged mother, wife and two daughters, besides other relatives and a host of friends. Card of Thanks. We sincerely thank the neighbors and friends who so kindly assisted us during our recent bereavement at the loss of our beloved husband and father. Also for the beautiful floral remembrances, choir, and the Masonic Lodge.
