Monday evening after he had returned from his work in the field Hamilton Smith was found dead in the barn by the side of his horses. Heart disease is supposed to have been the cause. ============ Same Newspaper, September 30, 1920 William Hamilton SMITH was bron in Elizabethton, Carter county, Tenn., Oct. 17th, 1855. He was the 8th child in a family of ten children, all of whom have passed to the great beyond except Byson, the youngest, who resides in Laton, California. He was a man of high ideals, public spirited and above all, a good neighbor, loving husband and father. While he never affliated with any religious organization his early training was in a good Methodist home which naturally inclined him to that faith. On Nov. 7th, 1884, he was united in marriage to Selah O. BAYLESS. To this union was born five children, Mrs. Anna SAXTON of Waverly, Kasnas; and Mrs. Winnie SAXTON, of Waverly; Mrs. Veda KRAMER, Mrs. Hattie CRISS and Hamilton SMITH, Jr., of Melvern. He came to Melvern in December, 1886 where he resided for 34 years. His life companion departed this life Feb. 5th, 1919. Since the death of his wife, his endeavor has been to keep the home in tact for the pleasure of his children whom he loved as only a devoted father can. At his home four miles southwest of Melvern Monday evening, Sept. 20th, 1920, his noble spirit took flight to God, who gave it. Besides his five children and eight grand children he leaves a host of neighbors and friends to mourn his departure. Farewell dear father, neighbor and friend, we have loved thee well on earth; may we all meet together in the beautiful beyond.(Contribued.)

Before the wedding ceremony Mr. Stanley Cummings sang, "Let the World Go Bye." Raymond's Wedding March by Rolfe, was played by Miss Eva JESSOP. Promptly at eight o'clock the father escorted the bride to the sweet strains of music under the arch of flags where the groom joined here. The bride was given away by her father and the full ring ceremony was used. The decorations by American Flags seemed very appropriate on an occasion like this since under this flag, only a few years ago, Mr. Crawford marched away in defense of his country. Only the members of the two families were present except Miss Jessop and an uncle and aunt of the bride.
