The Scranton Gazette Osage County Thursday August 8, 1929 Mrs. Lars ANDERSON, nee Christene SWANSON was born in Arlingsas, Vastgotland, Sweden, December 4, 1842 and came to America in July 1862 and married Lars Anderson shortly after her arrival to America. Mr. Anderson passed away 20 years ago. They settled in Osage County where Mr. Anderson had a homestead and where they remained until death. Mrs. Anderson passed away at her home 8 miles southeast of Scranton, July 30th, after a lingering illness at the ripe age of 86 years, 7 months and 26 days. She leaves to mourn her departure one son, Alexander of the home address and two brothers, John Swanson of Scranton, and Casper Swanson, of Osage City; two sisters, Mrs. August ALMSTROM and Mrs. Charles PEARSON both of Topeka, and a number of relatives and a host of friends. Card of Thanks. We desire to thank our friends and neighbors for the sympathy and help extended during the illness and death of our mother.     3. The Scranton Gazette Osage County Thursday August 8, 1929 Jacob Nichols. Jacob NICHOLS, 86, died Wednesday night at his home, four miles northeast of Carbondale. He was born April 26, 1843, in Columbus, Ohio. During the Civil War, Mr. Nichols served in the 21st Illinois volunteers. He enlisted in 1861 and served for the duration of the war. Surviving him are six daughters and one son: Mrs. Mary CLYBORN, Selman, Okla.; Mrs. Sarah BAILEY, Topeka; Mrs. Effie WALLER, Wakarusa; Mrs. Flora EDER, Granada, Colo.; Mrs. Grace MUENCH of Carbondale and Louis Nichols of the home address. Funeral services will be at 11 o'clock Friday at the home. Burial will be in Yocum cemetery. The Record joins with the friends in extending sympathy to the family.

VANGASSBEEK, who is State Deputy game warden. They were brought into court, and gave bond to appear Monday. They appeared and paid fines and costs of $16.75.

    3. The Topeka Daily Capital Monday September 6, 1965 Clyde Burns, 64, Dies After Long Illness. Burlingame.--Services will be at 10 a.m. today at the Federated Church here for Clyde BURNS, 64, who died Saturday at his home here after a long illness. He was born May 25, 1901 at Carbondale and had lived at Burlingame since 1943. He was a member of the Burlingame Masonic Lodge and Order of the Eastern Star. He was a past master of the Carbondale Masonic Lodge and a member of the Carbondale Grange. He was sheriff of Osage County from 1951 to 1955. He was employed by the Burlingame Coop at the time of his death. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Mary Burns, at home; three sons, Clyde Burns, Lyndon, Lloyd Burns, Burlington, and Donald Burns, Wamego; a sister, Mrs. Georgia BOLEY, Carbondale; and six grandchildren. Masonic graveside services will be conducted at Burlingame Cemetery. Carey Funeral Home at Burlingame is in charge of arrangements.

John FELLMAN, Osage City, 45, and Edda MUSSATO, Osage Cityh, 39. Judge PRICE has married 30 couples since entering office. Talking of marriage--Mr. Price says he took the oath of office at noon January 14 and about five o'clock a couple from Melvern rushed to be married. The Judge was possibly more flustered, and not much older, than the groom. He knew the steps of a legal ceremony--but lacked the practice.

HASTINGS was in Topeka today and says that Jim HOTCHKISS who was so seriously injured in the car accident Thursday night is improving and it is thought will recover. His sister who is a trained nurse is with him. Mrs. Ida McPHAIL is in the S.B.A. Hospital at Topeka for a surgical operation. This hospital is maintained by the Security Benefit Association and its services are free to members of the society.

This week we are reporting a wedding which took place two months ago, but we were not given permission to announce it until this week.
