I found Leonard and Sylvia Carruthers on the SSDI; last address Topeka. The name Sylvia rings a bell but I don't know what it's telling me! Shawnee Co. KS archives on Rootsweb shows them buried in Topeka Cemetery; both died in 1975. There are 4 others there too, some seem to be ones I found in Scranton on the KS 1895 census. There are 8 Carruthers in Scranton Cemetery and one in Burlingame too. Two Osage Co., marriages; Henry Carruthers to Emma Gunderman and William (probably a cousin of Henry, not a brother) to Mary Ann Curley. Neither of these latter surnames is familiar to me. 3. If you wish the hard copy of this material for your records, I will need your snail mail address; and after checking the KSHS site there are certainly a lot of Manhattan Newspapers for 1902 + as you know. One called the Student Herald which may be of some help to you.
