Her names was Elizabeth CARTER, wife of John CARTER. her father was Robert SIMERWELL, a noted Baptist missionary among the Chippawas and Pottawatomies, and came to this Territory with the former tribe when the were removed from Michigan.

Lord, of Scranton, is to be married on Monday next to Miss Cora GIBSON. Mr. Lord some nine years ago, went to Wyoming having but ten dollars in this pocket, and about a year ago he sold his business there for $10,000 in cash and came back to his first love, and purchased a farm of two hundred and forty acres, and also has built a house that cost 1,400 dollars. Surely he is deserving of a happy lot, and we hope he may have happiness for part of his stock in trade all the days of his life.
