The Carbondale Independent Osage County Thursday March 29, 1883 Died, at her home in Burlingame, on Monday, March 26, 1883, Ella, wife of W.E. BUSH, aged twenty-one years and six months. Deceased was married in last June to the bereaved husband, and these two young people embarked on their future voyage with everything bright before them, not even a shadow of a cloud to be seen in their horizon. But how soon was such bright prospects to be obscured by the darkness of death was exemplified by the young wife's early death. The sympathy of all goes out to the bereaved husband and family.
The Carbondale Independent Osage County Thursday March 29, 1883 Died in this city on Monday, March 26, 1883, of pneumonia, Daisy Pearl, youngest child of Elizabeth S. and Robert R. DUNBAR, aged six years, five months and fifteen days. The funeral of little Daisy Dunbar took place on Tuesday, and was largely attended. The casket a beautiful one, being trimmed with fine blue figured plush and blue silk texture handles, was furnished by our popular undertaker, C.V. Bradley, and was one of the finest every seen in Carbondale.

KOSIER to Miss Hattie FOSTER. A few friends and relatives were present and a pleasant time enjoyed. The parties were the recipients of several choice and valuable presents. We tender them The Independent's best wishes, and return thanks for a big slice of the bride's cake.

The Carbondale Independent Thursday March 22, 1883 Mrs. Emma REEL has taught a very successful term of school in district 71. Her term of school closes next Friday with an exhibition in the evening. Ed. ELLIS has put an addition to his house. Wonder if Ed. is not getting ready for a permanent housekeeper. His sister, lately from Iowa, is at present keeping house for him. Oscar DRUM starts in a few weeks for the southern part of th estate with his drove of sheep. He last winter took a trip to northern Texas, thinking he would likely locate there, but has since changed his mind and decided on southwestern Kansas.

Upon arriving in Kansas City, their father went to purchase the train tickets while they waited. He never returned. Money was raised locally to send the four of them to their destination in Arvonia. Once they arrived in Arvonia, the stepmother decided that she didn't want to raise the 3 children on her own so she abandoned them, as well. The Carbondale Independent Osage County Thursday March 15, 1883 Died, at his residence in this city on Saturday afternoon, February 24th, 1883, Mr. Thos. TROTTER, aged forty-six years and eight months, of disease of the heart, after but a few hours illness. He was apparently a strong, healthy man, and his sudden death was a surprise to the entire community. The funeral took place on Sunday, and was attended by the members of the Carbondale Lodge, No. 102, I.O.O.F., of which the deceased was a prominent member, in full regalia. Deceased leaves a wife and five small children to mourn his loss, and who have the sympathy of everybody.

The Carbondale Independent Osage County Thursday March 1, 1883 Died, at his residence in this city, on Saturday afternoon, February 24, 1883, Mr. Thos. TROTTER, in the fifty-ninth year of his age, of heart disease, after but a few hours illness. He was apparently a strong healthy man, and his death was a surprise to the entire community. He leaves a wife and five small children to mourn his untimely death. His funeral took place on Sunday, and was attended by the members of Carbondale Lodge, No. 102, I.O.O.F., of which he was a member in appropriate regalia.
The Carbondale Independent Osage County Thursday March 1, 1883 Died, at his residence, east of this city, on Saturday, February 18th, 1883, John LITTLE, in the fifty-sixth year of his age. Deceased had been confined to his bed for a long time, and was a great sufferer, and it seemed almost merciful that Death should end his sufferings, although it always seems hard to relatives and friends to see loved ones pass "over the river." He leavesa wife and six children to mourn his loss.

The Carbondale Independent Osage County Thursday February 22, 1883 Mr. George HOWELL, died at Eureka Springs last Monday, and his remains were taken from cars at Scranton last Tuesday. His death resulted it is supposed from a slight sprain of his ankle, while in Burlingame, about a year ago, confining him to his bed, and instead of getting well grew rapidly worse, until his foot had to be amputated, from which he never recoverd.
