Hi, Ardie I don't know who owned it, but it was next door to my ggrandmothers millinery shop. There is a photo of it in 70 years in Norton County. I have buried somewhere a really poor copy of the page it is on. Freida Gay's millinery shop, the cigar factory was on the corner. I don't know the owner, but Freida's father owned a cigar shop in Wichita about 1890. Freida and Emory Gay were in Norton and her shop, I believe, dated to 1894, perhaps a bit earlier. Thanks for giving me chance to see the box. Wonder if the needles were Great-grandma's? Linda
Linda; Do you have "70 years in Norton County" what areas does it cover. Would you have time to share information? I attended Rose Hill school in Rockwell township. School established about 5 miles NE of Norcatur around 1889 on a NE corner of W.B. Roe's west 80 acres. Any information on families of the area is useful. Where was the Millenary shop? Thanks.
