    3. Hanback was a Post Office from 04 Mar 1884 to 31 Dec 1892. The first postmaster at Hanback was Devillo R. Blanding. It was previously called Reagle from 28 Aug 1882 to 04 Mar 1884. Before it was Reagle it was Wilmot, NE. The first postmaster at Reagle was Joseph M. Miller. This info from Kansas Post Offices by Robert W. Baughman. pub 1961 by Kansas State Historical Society. You should find Reagle on the 1880 Cutler map at http://history.cc.ukans.edu/carrie/kancoll/graphics/maps/norton.htm According to "The History of the Early Settlement of Norton County, Kansas" by F.M. Lockard, "...Hanback was named in honor of Louis Hanback, our congressman at that time."
