Hedgewood Post Office was located 8 1/2 miles NW of Densmore; in Sec 3 Twp 4 South, Range 22 West on Big Timber Creek in Sand Creek township. It was established 18 May 1882 with David E. Stevens as postmaster. William Dobbie was appointed postmaster on 20 Sep 1893; and Elizabeth Adams was appointed 27 April 1897 and served until the post office was discontinued on 15 March 1898.
