    3. My object in subscribing to the Norton County List was to identify any queries concerning the Sarvis and Michals families, both being old settler families in Norton County. My late wife was Joanne Sarvis, NCHS Class of '49, whose father was the business manager of the San for many years. Joanne's mother was a Michals from the northwest part of the county. I have been researching both family lines for many years, and I keep hoping someone new, something new will emerge from history. Anything for me, anyone? Or, may I answer questions? 3. Sure you can ask questions. Fire away! I can send you obits for Pauline Sarvis from the Norton newspaper and Emma Bruinekool, mother of Mrs. Clyde Sarvis if you would like. I have the two Norcatur books - if the Michals family was from the Norcatur area. These books are not indexed, so I only find things by serendipity. 3. Good Morning Chuck, This may be nothing, but I post a lot of information to the Jefferson County mail list from old newspapers. The surname Michaels I posted, I believe, two items last night to that list. You may want to check the archives for that surname in Jefferson county. One item, if I remember correctly was a marriage. As I said it may not be who you are looking for but won't hurt to look. 3. I am not sure this is the family you are hunting for but here goes anyway. In 1950 there was a Sarvis family in Norton. The girl I knew was Shirley Sarvis. She graduated in 1949 from the Norton Junior high school and went on to high school there. I left Norton in 1952 but my family is still there. The last time I heard about Shirley was a lot later and whe was writing for the Hearst Newspapers there in San Francisco. This Sarvis lived right across the street east of the High School. I think her dad had a political job there in Norton but I am not sure about that so this may not be the family you are looking for.
