Ardie I am over here at Oberlin, Decatur County, this weekend and I can go to the library and check out the Jennings History book if someone needs a lookup in it. We will be going into town tomorrow morning so it would be no problem to get it. In "1001 Kansas Place Names" by Sondra Van Meter McCoy and Jan Hults, it says that the town of Jennings was first called Slab City, then renamed for Warren and Bedford Jennings, two area landowners. The Jennings post office was established in 1879; the Slab City PO existed from 1874-1879. Victoria, are Warren and Bedford Jennings part of your family?
