    3. HI again I guess it sounds like I put it on the net but all I did was entered the info in a data base program and send the attachment to them and they edit it and put it on the net after it is edited. I do have trouble keeping track of where they have put it though. I emailed and asked them where it was but havn't heard back yet. 2. Jim & DeAnna Walker
    3. Hi am researching: Zimri Lamb, Alemena, Norton County, Kansas. He moved there about 1877? from Fremont County, Iowa with wife Julia Hawk Lamb. Julia had a son from a previous marriage 1st husband Tinon Lamb (Zimri's Brother) and son Jasper . Zimri and Julia had 5 children Frank, John, Riley, Cora Mae, and Troy. Julia died in 1929 in Almena, Ks. Maggie Elizabeth Hawk and Husband William Garges Mildred Mahala Hawk b. 1912 in Almena, Kansas to Maggie Elizabeth Hawk Joshaway Funkhouser and wife Harriett Hawk (Not sure when they were there, moved on to California) The following is something that my mother had that was from "Aunt Julia", uncertain if she was the one who wrote this short story of Almena or not. Almena, Kansas Is situated on the Chicago, Rock Island and Pacific Railroad. The Chicago, Burlington and Quincy Railroad -- US Highway 383 and K-60 Highway. It was established South of the Prairie Dog Creek in 1877. The little Hamlet consisted of a Mill, Blacksmith Shop, Boarding House, 2 stores and a few dugouts. The first school house for Almena was a dugout on the west bank of Horse Creek, near a log bridge 3/4 miles North east of town. Seats were cottonwood logs sawed in half. with 2 legs at each end placed at an angle, a wide cottonwood board served as a crude desk for the teacher. Looking for anyone researching ant of the above families. Thanks DeAnna Walker
