In 1860 James Vance, age 62 was in Kansas Falls, Dickinson Co., KS and his housekeeper was M. Thorp and her three children. In 1870 James and Mary A. Vance are Osage Twp, Labette Co., KS with a 9 yr old son. Depending on when they moved, they could have been married in old Dorn Co., KS....now called Neosho Co., or in Labette Co. Or, of course in Dickinson Co. Does their marriage record show up in these counties or in their newspapers. such as the Neosho County Record? Have the early marriages for these counties been indexed?
