I would love to have your info on Edward Deats as he is the grandson of Marshall and Chloe Brewster:! Thanks!! I already have the info on the other Brewsters from the source you mentioned (1902) but I am missing the Deats information. His (Edward's) mom and dad died in Indiana and thanks to a wonderful cousin I now have their death & cemetery info so it will be wonderful to learn more about their son. I found the KSHS site you mentioned this AM before I got your e-mail and they have two newspapers (Headlight and Thayer Independant News) from Thayer and more from the surrounding area for the period I am interested in.I also checked on the interlibrary loan and will follow up on that:) You mentioned that obituaries from this period are difficult-could you let me know the difficulties you have found? I am not sure who little Willie belongs to but I am beginning to think there may have been another Brewster (unrelated) family in the area as another very kind person e-mailed me info on some Brewsters whose names I did not recognize. Either that or it could be that Willie is a great grandchild of Marshall. I have the cemetery info on Sidney & Louisa's little fellas as I ordered the microfilm on Neosho Cemeteries. Do you have any insight as to why the mortality seems so high for infants/toddlers at that time? Was there any epidemics that you know of in the 1877-1893 year range? I also found that the 1885 KS State Agricultural Census is available for this area and should include at least a mention for one of the children, James Savage and maybe (if I am really lucky) Amy depending on the date of the census enumeration. I know from reading the 1895 agricultural census record for the family that it had fantastic info on the family:) Thank you again for your reply & kind offer-I will look forward to receiving your info on Edward Deats at your convenience. I am trying to compile info for the family to add with my photos of the family and Chetopa TWP at that time. B. Brewster
