I am trying to find out what happened to Mrs. Thomas A. Brooks (a.k.a. Mary J. (May) [Estes] Brooks) who was living in Tioga Twp., Neosho Co., Kansas, with 2nd husband and 3 kids, in the 1880 census, and you tell me... Her daughter, by her first husband, Lydia Alice Estes, went to Kellogg, Iowa, where she graduated from high school in 1886 and married my great-granduncle, Edgar Rice Braley, in 1889. You really helped fill in pieces of a puzzle. Thanks! I also saw that you had posted an earlier issue of "The Chanute Times" that referred to the probate of her first husband's estate. He was Rufus Estes and he died sometime between 1867 and 1870. Just to let you know that someone else finds what you are doing is valuable.
